Barnsley not getting the credit they deserve It may well be true that Barnsley are not the most glamourous club around, but the South Yorkshire club are the current leaders in the form stakes with ten points from a possible 15. Only Forest and Palace can boast a similar haul of points.
It was the arrival of Roy Keane's side that promised top billing on the television highlights. Sadly it was a goalless League One game between Leeds and Charlton and a goalless Newcastle game that beat Barnsley to the top billing spot. And another Championship game without a goal received extended highlights. Yet it was the Barnsley game that yielded an exciting conclusion to the match with Jon Macken's late late goal.
One can only imagine that if Roy Keane's side had won or he had resigned after the game that it would have got the promised top billing. A shame that Mark Robins miraculous efforts at Barnsley in the last three weeks were not suitably recognised.
What will Barnsley have to do to get a fair crack of the whip on the television? Maybe if they win the Carling Cup and get into the top two of the Championship things will change!!
