Robins feeling at home in Barnsley Mark Robins and his backroom staff have been at Barnsley for just a couple of weeks, but it seems that their style of coaching and ideology is making a big difference.
Tuesday night's Carling Cup victory was the first home win in a competitive match for over six months and it was certainly the most exciting in that period of time. It also comes off the back of a first win in the Championship this season.
The team is now starting to find its confidence once again with three unbeaten games in succession under their belt and having gone behind twice to come out on top which is showing their fighting spirit when before heads would drop.
Mark Robins has made no secret that he and his staff are very glad to have made the decision to come to Barnsley and have already built up a strong bond with the staff and players at Oakwell making them feel right at home.
The positive attitude and different coaching techniques have certainly brought out the best in Anderson De Silva, who has scored two great goals in the last three games. A player with undoubted talent is now starting to give the fans glimpses of what he is all about.
There has been a tangible mood change at Oakwell and the supporters now have something to shout about with a team on the up. No doubt there will be dips along the way, but Mark Robins style and manner has given everyone renewed hope that Barnsley can start to go places and start looking up rather than over their shoulder.
For the first time in ten years Barnsley are in the fourth round of the Carling Cup and another good away performance on Saturday will see Barnsley pull out of the bottom three in the league.
