Prematch Press: Derby v Barnsley Mark Robins: Saturday was a real eye-opener and I know the depth of the task.
David Preece was excellent on his debut, apart from a couple of kicks. Iain Hume and Adam Hammill made things more lively when they came on.
Otherwise we were sloppy, too many square balls played and a real crises of confidence. We need to instill that confidence.
The do that we need to win matches and that means going back to basics.
Team moral is okay, not where it should be, but you would expect that. It will be a steady progress.
With the transfer window closed we can have only four loan players on the pitch but there will be some coming in and some going out.
We do have some real quality, but we need to be better when we don't have the ball.
At Rotherham we knocked Derby out of the Carling Cup this season so I know a bit about them and they are beatable.
We need the backing of the fans, but it is reciprocal and we need to give them something to shout about.
We picked up an injury with JCR who will be out for about ten days. That is a blow because he was lively on Saturday. Bogdanovic is still out for another 10 days.
Hallfredsson has played three games in ten days and three full practice games so he was understandably leggy but he looks better today and I expect he will give more on Tuesday.
My prediction is that we will be better than Saturday because that was poor.
