Mark Robins placed on gardening leave The latest statement from Rotherham United give the clearest indications so far that Mark Robins is poised to take over at the helm of Barnsley Football Club, although the football club are believed to still be keeping all options open at this moment in time.
Whilst discussions continue between the Barnsley board and Mark Robins, the Rotherham board have decided to place Robins on 'gardening leave'.
"Mark Robins has confirmed that his talks with Barnsley FC are not yet concluded and as such whilst he remains our manager, it has been agreed that he will take a period of gardening leave until the matter is resolved. We will keep fans updated as and when further developments occur and wish to confirm that preparations for Saturday's game with Chesterfield will take priority at this moment in time."
It is believed that Patrick Cryne will be returning from holiday this week and will have face-to-face talks with Rotherham over the weekend.
On Barnsley Player, Don Rowing, a director at Barnsley Football Club said they had only approached Mark Robins so far, but there were a large amount of people interested in the position, both currently working and not working at present.mWhilst not wanting to be rushed into a decision they are mindful that the Championship re-commences in nine days.
