Who will be Barnsley's next manager While the board at Barnsley Football Club assess a list of potential managers to take over from Simon Davey, with up to 20 people apprently expressing an interest in the job, Ryan Kidd and Kelham O'Hanlon will be in charge of first team training.
There have been plenty of names linked with the job, including Heart's manager Csaba Laszlo, Brentford's Andy Scott, Rotherham's Mark Robins, Aidy Boothroyd and Tony Adams, but so far there has been no comment from Oakwell.
At the moment the press is awash with speculation and conjecture, but while no names have been officially linked with the South Yorkshire club it probably also means that managers agents will be busy angling for their client's name to get into the media spotlight.
Barnsley are determined not to be rushed into a snap decision, rather wanting to ensure that they get the right man for the job. Key qualities required will be someone who can motivate the team and lead them to where the club should be considering the amount of investment that has gone into building the squad.
Whether that person is currently in a management role with another club or has had good experience in the past remains to be seen.
I remember a scene in the political comedy 'Yes Minister' where someone said he was not interested in a certain job. The reply came back, "So you are interested!"
In sort anyone ruling themselves out of the running for the next Barnsley manager is not necessarily really out of the race!
