Post Match Reaction from Oakwell A clearly disappointed Simon Davey faced the media after Coventry City's win. After two good performances last week he was unimpressed with some of the performances from his side today as well as the officials.
Simon Davey said, "We started quite well and for no reason he has given a free kick and to be fair it was a great strike, but they shouldn't have had a free kick. It put us on the back foot.
"It was a sending off for two bad tackles. It was probably the only right decisions the referee got all day.
"There was nothing in the game, but we didn't play well. Kozluk has gone and given two silly free kicks away and got two yellow cards - he should have be more professional than that. You need to stay in the game for as long as you can because anything can happen in this division and it has cost us the game.
"At times we played quite well in the first half without creating enough chances. We had a couple of half chances, but by no mens enough to win a game.
"We need Hallfredsson and Thompson cleared so they can come in and freshen things up. Hopeful that clearance will come through in time for Tuesday.
"Iain has been doing well in training and had a couple of closed door games. We didn't look like scoring so we decided to change the two strikers who had worked tirelessly. It's good to get him in a Barnsley shirt at Oakwell.
"There were performances that were not acceptable today and they need to be looking over their shoulders."
It is certainly a shot over the bow for those that underperformed. The midfield in particular will have plenty of competition in that area and expect underperformance to be rewarded with a long spell on the bench.
