Oakwell Juniors 4 - 2 Ranch Dynamos

Oakwell made it through to the semi-finals of the League Cup finishing top of their group with a well earned victory over second place Ranch. In what were difficult conditions Oakwell made the breakthrough after 20 minutes with a great goal from James Cryne from an acute angle. This gave Oakwell the impetus and they took control of the game with Daniel Willey finishing off a great move to move two goals up.

Just before half-time Ranch pulled one back as a result of goalkeeper Ben Child being penalised for bringing a player down to make it 2-1 at half-time.

After the break Oakwell found it hard against a very strong wind and had to weather some early pressure from Ranch and it wasn't until the 70th minute that Oakwell Juniors eased the pressure with a well taken goal from Alex Johnson. Ranch then rallied well to put Oakwell under pressure which paid off in the 80th minute with a lob over the keeper.

Oakwell Juniors were under the cosh until a very well struck shot from outside the box from James Cryne which killed off any hope for Ranch to get back into the game.

Oakwell will play their semi-final at home on Sunday 15th February.
