Charter Standard clubs to unite for conference
Written by Kate Evans on Monday 6th April 2009

Charter Standard Conference 2009
9am - 4pm | 9th May 2009
English Institute for Sport, Sheffield

Sheffield & Hallamshire FA are set to host their first Charter Standard conference at the beginning of May (Saturday 9th) at the English Institute for Sport, Sheffield.

The development and support team from Sheffield & Hallamshire FA will be running a full day of programmes and workshops both practical and informative aimed at individuals involved with Charter Standard clubs within the County FA region.

Mark Birkett, Football Development and Charter Standard Co-ordinator said "It is our aim to make the day as informative as possible, and attendees will be given the opportunity to register for a number of workshops and seminars covering every angle of the administration and development of a charter standard club."

The workshop programme will include areas such as club development, safeguarding children, the Respect programme, best practice tips for clubs, marketing and communications for clubs, age appropriate coaching, skills team sessions, girls and women's football, funding, preparing development plans, disability football, governance, match day preparation for young players plus much more.

There will also be a new media service, where all delegates can take a look at the new IT system used by Sheffield & Hallamshire FA.

Sheffield & Hallamshire FA would like to see at least one representative from every Charter Standard club at their first ever conference. Clubs are limited to 4 delegates so as not to over populate workshops. Clubs working towards Charter Standard status are also welcome, and this will give invaluable insight and guidance to making the grade.

Representative will be available throughout the day from Sheffield & Hallamshire FA, the Football Association and the Football Foundation.

Admission as a delegate to the Conference is free to all Charter Standard Clubs. A £10 charge will be incurred for delegates making a cancellation less than 72 hours before the event.

If you and your club are interested in attending the Charter Standard conference please registered your intention with Marc Birkett on 0114 241 4992 or email marc.birkett@sheffieldfa.com. A conference brochure and booking form will then be forwarded to you.
