Barnsley Academy 2-2 Middlesbrough Academy
Written by Robb Nunns on Saturday 7th March 2009

The young Reds started well and had a number of good chances, as the first half wore on Middlesborough began to have most of the possession which resulted in a goal for the away team. The goal was a wake up call for the reds who then started to spark, earning a well deserved first goal as their reward. Jamil Adam finished brilliantly with the ball dunking well past Middlesbrough's keeper!

In the second half Middlesbrough came out strong putting the young Reds on a back foot, and proceeded to scored again using what seemed to be a well rehearsed free kick, bringing the score to 2-1.

Barnsley then had to dig deep and throw caution to the wind, and after a couple of half chances scored the equalizer with Danny Fearnehough finishing in great style from a hard worked pass from Reuben Noble Lazzarus.

The game swung from end to end with both sides missing good chances, but as the final whistle went a 2-2 draw was a fair result for the good effort the young Reds put in!
